My Two Kids!

Ever since Brooklyn was tiny and Chris would hold both her and Christopher, he'd say "My two kids!" Christopher still loves saying it when they are being held or hugged together. I love the phrase (especially the way he says it) and will be sad in a small way to have it change to "my three kids!"
Christopher (aka Magooski, Gooseberries, Squirt Bucket, or Tinkleberries) is quite a character these days. He keeps Chris and me laughing, but he also keeps on us our toes! We're 95% done toilet training (I thought we were totally done, minus night-time, but he decided to make one last stand last night and today). Here are some recent bits of conversation:
C- Oh, sorry I bumped you. (He said this while helping me push the stroller)
S- It's ok.
C- It's no harm done.

As we were going for a walk, we saw an old man with a long beard on a motorcycle.
C- Who is that? Is it Lehi?

During one of the many conversation where Chris was trying to talk me into getting a dog, he asked Christopher Don't you want to get a dog? Wouldn't that be fun?
C- No no, you telled Mommy YOU wanted a dog.

He got all excited recently when I turned on Lion King and said
C- This is my favorite movie! I love Lion King! I love Jesus too!

C- I need to come in bed with you cuz I'n kind of l'il bit sick.

During lunch one day I was in the other room and he kept getting down from the table without finishing. I asked him Christopher did you finish your banana yet? Go sit down and finish eating.
C- Umm, I'm going to sing Brooklyn a song instead.

Blessing on the food last night
C- ...thank thee for the pasta and thank thee for the peas and the water. Please bless it won't be soggy...

S- This is "Curious George Visits the Toy Store" by Margret Reys.
C- Who's Margret Reys?
S- She's the author, the one who wrote the book. "This is George. He was a good little monkey and always..."
C- What's he doing? What is that?
S- Let's read and find out. "...he saw balls, dolls..."
C- What is that toy? What's George saying?
S- That's a slinky. Let's keep reading to find out.
This is a very common conversation while reading a book, driving around, or doing really anything. He is SO inquisitive. I love that he likes to ask questions, figure out and know things, and usually I love answering the best I can, but sometimes I get a little tired of his endless questioning.
Other things I love about Christopher:
He loves to read and would probably sit for hours being read to.
He is a very affectionate, sweet and cuddly little boy. He is a great brother and loves to play with Brooklyn and bring her toys and give her hugs.
He loves playing with trucks and blocks and will play with them in his room for long periods of time. I love peeking in on him and seeing his newest creation. One day when I got out of the shower he was super excited to show me his dogfood he had made (he took apart 5 puzzles and mixed them together). Haha
He still loves telling stories, and we still love listening to him! This was a while ago but I still love it:
He gets so excited when he's telling us stories or just talking anytime that Chris and I are constantly reminding him to talk quietly. He talks so loudly sometimes! We're also working on being more gentle with Brooklyn.
Now about our sweet Brooklyn (aka Pretty girl, Princess, Sweetheart, Brookie). The poor girl has been sick the past few days, with fevers over 103, so she has been pretty clingy, whiney and fussy. I have enjoyed her cuddles but have felt sad for her. I've missed her playful laugh and happy smile.
When she is not sick, she is such a fun, happy, sweet girl. Here are some of the things I love about her:
She is a girly girl and loves to put her arm through bags and carry them around like a purse. The other day when she found a pair of Christopher's underwear, she put her arm through one of the holes and slid it up to her elbow like a purse. Chris and I were cracking up when we saw her with his 'unders' hanging off her elbow.
Yesterday Chris opened a package and put the big envelope on her head like a hat. She immediately smiled and walked in circles, knowing she was putting on a silly show.
She is a pretty good eater most of the time, but she loves to make a mess!
She hurries to the door when she hears her daddy come home and gives him great big hugs.
She loves to go for walks, and most of the time gets frustrated if she is being carried. She loves to walk around and explore things we see on our walks. Chris and I joke that when #3 comes along, it will be Christopher that will still be begging to be carried everywhere. :)
She loves to be held and cuddled. She is pretty attached to me and will cry whenever I leave and sometimes when Chris leaves. (Fortunately it doesn't take long for her to calm down after).
She also likes to sing and dance, which we love watching. I hope this continues! (Sorry most of the video is sideways- also, it was late and she was tired. She doesn't usually fall down this much!)
Although she is our little sweetheart, she does have a bit of an attitude. She will fold her arms and grunt or growl when she doesn't like something. She is also very strong-willed and stubborn, and has a squawk that lets us know when she's not happy.
We are of course so excited about baby #3 and will be interested to see his/her personality and how it meshes with Christopher and Brooklyn. For now though, every day I thank Heavenly Father for my two kids.
